We recently posted this video to highlight a few basic tips on keeping your business network safe.
Setting up multifactor authentication or multifactor authentication (or MFA) is becoming commonplace as it makes it harder for scammers to gain control of your identity and accounts.
Multiffactor authentication is one of the easiest means to keeping your network safe. This requires a second way to verify yourself. This means is called multifactor authentication, or “two step verification”. You can achieve multifactor authentication by using text to a phone for a code, or using an authenticator app (more secure) like Microsoft or Google Authenticator.
Multifactor verification goes hand in hand with use of a password manager that sets up and remembers complex passwords that are much more secure than a short set of words and symbols, such as P4ssW0rd*. Using both would boost your account security. While two-factor authentication can be time-consuming to set up for every account, it’s relatively straightforward to set up and use, and well worth the effort.
Multifactor authentication is found to be a hassle by man, but it could be worse. The longest part of the process is the initial setup. This method is extremely easy and greatly helps deter someone stealing your information. The inconvenience of 2FA will go a long way in keep you from an even bigger hassle.
The human element, however, remains one of the most critical focus areas for preventing a data breach.
CCP is rolling out a new cybersecurity training program that will automate the process and that includes simulated phishing campaigns to help gauge individual-level risks to cybersecurity activity. Looking forward to helping keep our users safe!
